Biographical data about the author

Todorov, Tseno Dinov. Born on 20.03.1877, Vratsa, died on 20.11.1953, Sofia In 1896 he entered the first graduating class of the State Painting School (now the National Academy of Arts) and in 1901 he graduated with a major in painting in the class of Prof. Ivan Mrkvichka. This was followed by a specialization under Leon Bona at the National School of Fine Arts of the Academie Julien, in the period 1901 – 1907. In 1908, Todorov traveled through Egypt and Palestine and painted landscapes that played a major role in the formation of the trend of Impressionism in Bulgaria. In 1910, Tseno Todorov became a teacher at the Art-Industrial School, and after its renaming in 1921 to the National Art Academy, he was its director between 1930 and 1932. He was a member of the Society of Artists in Bulgaria, the Union of South Slavic Artists “Lada” and a founding member of the Society “Native Art”.
