Belkovski, Asen Iliev b. 22.01.1879, Asenovgrad – beg. 14.09.1957, Sofia Asen Belkovski is a Bulgarian artist, painter, one of the first and most important restorers for our history. The author is known for his works in small format. Finishes restoration and painting in Russia. In 1920, he held his first and only solo exhibition in our country with 130 paintings, which were bought in the first days after the opening of the exhibition. After that, he appeared at each General Art Exhibition with one or two paintings, which attracted the attention of a narrow circle of connoisseurs. His earliest works remain in Russia, where he studied painting. From the Russian realist school, the artist mastered the skill of making true observations of nature and seeking its truthful expression in the landscape. Having studied the art of restoration, Asen Belkovski has been the only skilled restorer of fine art monuments in Bulgaria for a long time.
