Dimitar Avramov (1929 – 2008) art critic. He was born on September 6, 1929 in Burgas. He graduated in philosophy from Sofia University in 1954. He started publishing in periodicals in 1954. He was the editor of the magazine “Philosophical Thought” (1955 – 1960), deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine “Problems of Art” (1968 – 1980). Research associate (1961), senior research associate II (1972), Ph.D. First degree (1978) at the Institute of Art Studies and at the Institute of Literature (1989 – 1991) at the BAS. He gives lectures on the history of the new Bulgarian culture in the specialty of cultural studies at SU. In 2000, he was awarded the “Stara Planina” order, first class. Dimitar Avramov died on May 1, 2008 in Sofia.
