METODIEV, Angel Metodiev Angelov (16.III.1921-1984). Born in the village of Kirkovo, now a district of the city of Preslav. From 1941 he studied painting at the Art Academy in Sofia. Later, he was an assistant in painting to Prof. Panayot Panayotov, Prof. Iliya Petrov and Prof. Nenko Balkanski. Since 1963, he has held solo exhibitions in Sofia, Petrich, Blagoevgrad, Kyustendil, Haskovo, Dimitrovgrad, Kardjali, Varna, Shumen. Participates in national exhibitions. For the painting “Monuments of Sofia” he received the award of the city of Sofia. He is engaged in wood carving. He bequeathed to the city of Preslav 63 paintings and 9 wood carvings with the aim of creating a city art gallery.
