Biographical data about the author

Dimitar Vulkanov VALKANOV was born on May 13, 1907 in the village of Aprilovo, Targovishte. Graduated (1934) Painting at the Art Academy in Sofia, under Prof. Nikola Marinov and Dimitar Gyudzhenov. Combatant painter, longtime head of the studio of military artists, veteran of the Second World War. A master of battle painting, he creates portraits, figurative compositions and landscapes.
