Biographical data about the author

Tokmakchiev, Nenko Angelov. Born on 13.04. 1931, Aytos, died on 16.07.2011, Sofia. In 1957, he graduated from the theater painting major at the Academy of Arts, where his teachers were Professor Ivan Penkov and Professor Georgi Karakashev. From 1957 to 1959 he worked as an artist at the “Konstantin Kisimov” drama theater in Veliko Tarnovo, and from 1959 to 1961 – at the Vidin Drama Theater. After 1961, Tokmakchiev continued his development as a painter and five years later held his first exhibition in his hometown of Aytos. He works in the genres of landscape, composition and portrait, and his preferred technique is watercolor. In 1971, he was awarded the “Cyril and Methodius” order. Since 2001, he has been an honorary citizen of Burgas.
