Vaska Emanuilova (1905-1985), “Naked Body”

EMANUILOVA, Vaska Emanuilova Igova She was born in 1905 in the village of Komshtitsa, Tsaribrodsko. In 1927 he graduated from the State Academy of Arts, under Prof. Ivan Lazarov in sculpture and Prof. Tseno Todorov in painting. Until 1931, he remained working at the academy in the studio of Prof. Marin Vassilev. In 1939, he conducted a three-month specialization in sculpture in Paris. In 1931 he became a co-founder and member of the Society of New Artists and participated in many of the collective art exhibitions organized by him. He works with plaster, bronze and terracotta, mainly in the field of small sculpture in the genres of nude body, historical and everyday composition and especially portraiture. He creates sculptural portraits of his colleagues and contemporaries. In addition to easel art, Emanuilova is also involved in the execution of monumental works. Died July 11, 1985.
