Olga Valnarova (1918 – 2012), “From the Rhodopes”

Valnarova, Olga Ocetova Valnarova – born on July 3, 1918 in Sofia. He graduated in Painting at the Art Academy in Sofia in 1940 under Prof. Dechko Uzunov. He specialized in Paris /1941/ at Andre Lot’s academy. The two years spent there awakened Olga Valnarova’s interest in cubism, constructivism and other modern western influences, which she skillfully synthesized in her paintings even during the time of socialism. From 1954 to 1969, Olga Valnarova was an art editor at the publishing house Narodna Prosveta.
