Petko Abadjiev (1913 – 2004), “End of Shumen”, 1977

Abadjiev, Petko Stefanov. Born on February 28, 1913, Karlovo, died in 2004. He created many works, painted in soft silver-grey tones, with a marked sense of space-air environment and restraint. Graduated (1942) Painting at the Art Academy, Sofia, under Prof. Nikola Ganushev. In the first years of his work, he painted landscapes with scenes from Karlovo, some of them under the influence of Nikola Tanev, with whom he was friends.
