Item description

Bulgarian – guards, soldiers. On one side, near the guard and under one of the crossbars is the monogram of Ferdinand I, tsar of Bulgaria, and on the other – the maker’s marking. The blade is of forged steel, with curved backwards edge and two wide fullers. Made in Vienna, Austria-Hungary, by “Johann Zelinka”. The hilt is of wood, covered with leather and twisted bronze wire. The guard is with two crossbars, projecting in a lion’s head. The scabbard is missing.
