The popular Bulgarian singer Asen Maslarski will sing for the audience in Shumen today. The concert is part of the “Summer Art” initiative of the “Shoumen Culture Club”. The event is from 18.00 at “Ganusheva Kashta” at 152 “Tsar Osvoboditel” Street. In case of bad weather, the concert will be in the Stiliyan Chilingirov Regional Library. The event is realized with the support of the Municipality of Shumen. Asen Maslarski wrote his first original songs while still a student. His first recordings in BNR and Radio Shumen were in the period 1976-1980 as a student at Shumen University. In 1978, he recorded the song “This is where Bulgaria begins”, designated 30 years later as Shumen’s anthem. Between 1980 and 1982 he performed concert activities with Mikhail Belchev. In 1986, he released “Fireplace” together with Stefan Zlatev – a long-playing record in “Balkanton”. In 1987-1991, his active solo concert activity began. After 1989, he released two solo albums, and around 2000 he started working in tandem with Militsa Bozhinova from Tonika SV and Familia Tonika. In 2009, he released his jubilee song collection in a two-disc set called “It’s Raining Outside”. Asen Maslarski continues to compose, sing and write songs. He is the author and performer of the National Anthem of Shumen University. Asen Maslarski was among the founders and first director of the private radio “Forte”.
