Teofan Sokerov was born on May 3, 1943 in the town of Lovech. He studied at the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, majoring in Painting under Prof. Petar Mihailov and successfully graduated in 1969. In the period 1971-1982 he was the chairman of the Union of Artists in Lovech. He settled in Sofia, where since 1994 he has been a professor of painting at the National Academy of Arts. He is the author of numerous easels and monumental works – “The artistic layout and frescoes in the Patriarchal Church, Tsarevets (completed 1985), “The Museum of Education (Gabrovo)” The memorial complex on Mount Buzludzha, the National Museum “Land and People”, the National Palace of Culture. He rests on 08.01. 2020 in Sofia.
