Item description

Bulgarian- guards, soldier’s. The blade is of forged steel, with curved backwards edge and two wide fullers. Made in Austria-Hungary by “Johann Zelinka”. The scabbard is of sheet steel, with two suspension rings and loops. The hilt is of wood, covered with leather and twistied bronze wire. The guard is with two crossbars, projecting in a lion’s head. It belonged to Colonel Stefan Bonchev from Sofia.
