Kolev, Boris Stoyanov (1906 – 1982). Born on July 3, 1906, Kyustendil, Bulgaria, died in 1982. Boris Kolev was a painter and art critic. He mainly paints landscapes, portraits, figurative compositions. He writes monographs, articles, conducts research on Bulgarian fine art. Graduated Painting at the Art Academy – Sofia under Prof. Tseno Todorov. He specialized in art history in Vienna until 1944. He worked as a drawing teacher. Long-time teacher and head of the Department of Painting at VIAS, Sofia. Participated in many OHI, exhibitions of the Society of New Artists. Arranges 15 solo exhibitions in different cities of the country.
