Biographical data about the author
POPOV, Trifon (1874-1949). Born in the village of Gorna Lipnitsa, Gornooryakhovsko in a priest’s family. He graduated from the first graduating class of the State Drawing School in Sofia under Prof. Iv. Mrkvichka. Works together with his teachers Prof. Ivan Mrkvichka and Anton Mitov. He painted many of his paintings in Shumen, where he taught and lived until the end of his days. Bequeaths part of his paintings to the gallery in Shumen.
