Biographical data about the author

VICHEV, Vladimir Dimitrov Vichev (17.XI.1917-1979). Born in Shumen in a family of teachers. His father Dimitar Vichev is an artist. After graduating from the Men’s High School in Shumen, he was a student at the Academy of Arts in Budapest (1936-1942). In 1942, he was an intern at the Third Boys’ High School in Sofia. Participated in the Patriotic War. From 1946 to 1955, he worked in the community center “Dobri Voynikov”, where he made an art collection, which became the basis of the fund of the Art Gallery in Shumen. Bulgarian history, our revivalists and revolutionaries inspire his work. Works painting. He travels a lot in the country and abroad. Participates in all exhibitions and competitions. He won the Sofia award five times. Member of the SBH since 1955, secretary of the Group of Shumen artists. Awarded the Order of “Cyril and Methodius” – Second degree. His works are stored in almost all galleries in the country, in the National Gallery of Art, in Hungary.
