Nikola Georgiev Poppetrov (1884 – 1963) – He was born on April 9, 1884 in Dupnitsa. In 1908, he graduated from the State Drawing School in Sofia, majoring in painting, under Prof. Ivan Angelov and Prof. Ivan Mrkvichka. He works as a drawing teacher at the Sliven Boys’ High School. Participated in the Balkan War (1912-1913), the Allied War (1913) and the First World War (1915-1918). After the wars, he continued to work as a drawing teacher. He moved with his family to Sofia. He later settled in Kyustendil, where he taught until his retirement (1945). He works in the field of portraiture, domestic painting and still life.
