Zidarov, Lyuben Hristov (1923 – 2023). Born on 23.12.1923, Veliko Tarnovo. He works in the field of graphics, illustration and painting. In 1948, he graduated in painting at the Sofia Art Academy in the class of Prof. Iliya Petrov. He works as an illustrator for the children’s magazines “September”, “Flame” and “Nightingale”. From 1967 to 1970, he was the chief artist of the publishing house “Narodna Medvesh”. He is the author of the illustrations in books such as “Tales of Scheherazade”, “Bulgarian Folk Tales”, “Treasure Island” and many others. In the 1970s, he was vice-chairman and then chairman of the Creative Fund of the SBH. From 1996 to 1999, he was the chairman of the Union of Bulgarian Artists. He rests on 03.01.2023.
