Iliev, Stoyan (1934). Stoyan Iliev works in the field of wall painting, monumental art, sgraffito, wood sculptures. In his works, abstract forms overflow and transform into human ones, somehow reconciling the age-old enmity between figurative and non-figurative art. From the large, seemingly chaotic strokes of the brush, a harmony rich in rhythms and melodies is born. Born in 1934, Stoyan Iliev graduated from the National Academy of Arts, majoring in painting under Prof. Dechko Uzunov. He studied sculpture under Lubomir Dalchev. He is remembered by many generations as an original illustrator of Bulgarian folk tales.
