Vladimir Vichev (1917 – 1979), “Vasil Kolarov’s Childhood”, 1956

VICHEV, Vladimir Dimitrov Vichev (17.XI.1917-1979). Born in Shumen in a family of teachers. His father Dimitar Vichev is an artist. After graduating from the Men’s High School in Shumen, he was a student at the Academy of Arts in Budapest (1936-1942). In 1942, he was an intern at the Third Boys’ High School in Sofia. Participated in the Patriotic War. From 1946 to 1955, he worked in the community center “Dobri Voynikov”, where he made an art collection, which became the basis of the fund of the Art Gallery in Shumen.
