Biographical data about the author

MILITSA KOZAROVA (1904 – 1985). Born in Shumen on March 12, 1904 in the family of a drawing teacher. Father Ivan Kozarov (1872 – 1922) studied at the Vienna Academy of Arts. Militsa grew up in the family house built by great-grandfather and Hadji Dimitraki Panev, today the Lajos Kossuth House-Museum in memory of its leader who stayed there after the defeat of the Hungarian Revolution of 1848-1849. He then entered the State Academy of Arts – 1924 – 1926 (general department) and 1926 – 1929 (special painting department). Graduated with “good” from Prof. Boris Mitov. Certificate of completion of higher education issued on July 2, 1929. Teaching at the Shumen Girls’ High School. Organized four solo exhibitions – in Yambol (1931), Provadia (1932) and Shumen (1939 and 1975). Traveled to Paris in 1938. He rested in Sofia on September 1, 1985. In 2021, the “Elena Karamihailova” Shumen Hospital received a donation from arch. Yulia Todorova (1939) – daughter of M. Kozarova, consisting of 14 paintings.
