Biographical data about the author

Yuri Bukov was born on March 7, 1947 in the village of Riben, Pleven region. He is one of the great contemporary Bulgarian expressionists. He graduated in Painting under Prof. Balkanski at the Academy of Arts – Sofia. His work unfolds in several subjects (urban and rural landscape, portrait, nude, still life) and is distinguished by deep emotionality and exquisite color. The author defines his style as “magical realism”. There are over 30 solo exhibitions in the country and abroad. His paintings are owned by a number of collectors in France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, USA and Japan.
