Biographical data about the author

RAJKO ZHEKOV was born on June 24, 1877 in the village of Kozludzha / Suvorovo / Varna. In 1897 he went to Italy, where he studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He returned to Bulgaria in 1905, and in the 1920s he settled in Varna. He participated in the first exhibition of artists in the city of Varna in the summer of 1923. Many of the artist’s paintings are in the collection of the National Art Gallery. Died on 18.05.1963.
