Sokerov, Teofan Sokerov (1943-2020). Born on May 3, 1943 in the town of Lovech. He studied at the National Academy of Arts, Sofia, majoring in Painting under Prof. Petar Mihailov, graduating in 1969. 1971-1982 he was the chairman of the Union of Artists in Lovech. He settled in Sofia, where since 1994 he has been a professor of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts. He is the author of numerous easel and monumental works: The artistic layout and murals in the Patriarchal Church, Tsarevets (completed 1985), the Memorial Complex on the Peak (Buzludzha), the National Museum “Land and People” (Sofia), the National Palace of Culture (Sofia) Mosaic panels in the “Vasil Levski” Museum, etc. Rests on 08.01.2020 in Sofia
