Mihov, Atanas Markov – born on 24.09.1879, Stara Zagora – died on 22.01.1975, Sofia Works in the field of realistic landscape painting. During his participation in the First World War, he also painted pictures on a military theme. He is considered one of the founders of Bulgarian impressionism. In 1904, Atanas Mihov graduated from the Painting School, where his teachers were Prof. Ivan Mrkvichka and Prof. Yaroslav Veshin. The following year he was sent as a drawing teacher to Skopje. He also taught in Silistra (1906-1910), Razgrad (1910-1912), Ruse (1913-1915) and in Sofia (1923-1932), after which he retired and devoted himself to active creativity.
