Denev, Boris Chokanov. Born on February 7, 1883. in Tarnovo. In 1903-1908 he was a teacher in his hometown and as a self-taught artist he organized an exhibition in Sofia in 1909. From 1909 to 1914 he studied painting in Munich under Prof. Leo von Löftz. From 1914 to 1935 he was a military artist of Sofia. Creates many compositions on a military theme. Works in landscape and portraiture. It recreates the beauty of Melnik, Samokov, Plovdiv, around Sofia. He became an artist of his native Tarnovo, revealing the beauty of nature and the charm of ancient architecture. Organized 25 solo exhibitions, participated in numerous general exhibitions. He died on 31.12.1969. in Sofia
