Assa, Grady Haim – born on 29.01.1954, Pleven. A painter of Jewish origin, one of the most popular names in Bulgarian art. In 1981, he graduated from the specialty of mural painting at the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” in the class of Prof. Nikola Gelov. He is currently a professor and head of the “Fashion” department, and in the period 2000-2004 he was deputy rector. He began his work as a teacher at the Pleven Music High School. In 1986-1987 Gredi Assa, Andrey Daniel, Bozhidar Boyadzhiev, Vihroni Popnedelev, Nedko Solakov and the art critic Philip Zidarov founded the avant-garde art group “The City”.
